About Grand Hotel

The hotel is beautifully situated at the base of Romsdalseggen, with the impressive Romsdalstindene as a majestic backdrop. The hotel’s history dates back to 1890, a time when Åndalsnes primarily consisted of the nearby farms Aandal and Nes. Since then, the hotel has faced challenges such as fires, reconstruction, and occasional renovations, but it has always retained its magnificent location at the foot of the mountain, as it does to this day.

The hotel has 88 hotel rooms divided into single and double rooms as well as suites. All rooms have a view of the Romsdalsfjorden and the Romsdalsfjella mountains. All rooms are bright and nice with beautiful wall murals in each room.

Electric car and electric bicycle – environmentally friendly way to experience nature!

Grand Hotel owns 6 units. electric bikes of the type Scott e-sub Cross 2018 and 1 pc. electric cars of the type Renault Twizy 2 seats that our guests can rent. By using an electric bike or an electric car, you can experience the wonderful Romsdalen, Trollstigen or others, you get close to nature and you get to use your senses such as sight, hearing and smell. Feel free to bring a picnic basket from the hotel and share the nature impressions with a good friend!
